What if my dog is recovering from surgery or is physically challenged?
Please keep in mind that we are a CAGE-FREE boarding facility and dogs have a lot of freedom to interact with each other at Stone Meadow Farm. In fact, parents should be aware that even though dogs are under close supervision at all times, the fact is that dogs sometimes play rough with each other. They are in constant motion during play, running and jumping and using their teeth at times in playful communication. That's just how dogs interact and play together. While a cage-free environment is fun for most dogs, it is not fun if your dog is recovering from a recent surgery or medical procedure or suffers from severe arthritis or other serious physical impairment. Any surgery, major or minor procedures, must be performed at least 3 weeks prior to check-in date and any stitches must be removed a minimum of 2 weeks prior to check-in date. In addition to the 3 week waiting period, a written release from the veterinarian who performed the surgery or medical procedure is required to clear your dog for boarding. The concept of our cage-free boarding environment is to allow dogs freedom to interact at all times. If after dropping off for boarding, it is determined that your dog must be kept isolated from the other canine boarders because of having special needs, parents will receive a call and arrangements made to have their dog picked up or moved to a vet clinic boarding facility. Please keep this in mind when making boarding reservations as we are not staffed to provide one-on-one care for dogs with special needs.
